CoastCon, Inc., established in 1977, is a non-profit literary organization dedicated to fostering a love for reading, education, fellowship, and the genres of science fiction, fantasy, and gaming. As a completely fan-run organization, CoastCon, Inc. relies on the passion and dedication of its ten-member volunteer board to develop exciting events and gatherings for enthusiasts.

At the heart of CoastCon, Inc.’s activities lies their flagship event, CoastCon—the longest-running and largest science fiction, fantasy, and gaming convention in Mississippi. Each year, CoastCon, Inc. brings together fans, authors, artists, gamers, and industry professionals for an unforgettable experience filled with panel discussions, workshops, gaming tournaments, cosplay contests, and more.

Beyond their commitment to the literary and gaming communities, CoastCon, Inc. also prioritizes giving back to society. Annually, they carefully select a charitable organization to support, aiming to make a positive impact in their local community. In the upcoming year, from 2023 to 2024, CoastCon, Inc. has chosen CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Harrison and Stone Counties as their designated charity.

Through their passion for literature, education, and the imaginative worlds of science fiction, fantasy, and gaming, CoastCon, Inc. strives to create a vibrant and inclusive community that celebrates creativity and supports charitable causes like CASA of Harrison and Stone Counties.

CoastCon’s board consists of four officer positions that rotate once every three years (chair, vice-chair, treasurer, and secretary) and six member-at-large positions that change annually.
