What is CoastCon?

CoastCon, Inc. is a non-profit organization that hosts Mississippi's Science Fiction and Fantasy Convention. The corporation is run by a ten-member Board, the members of which volunteer their time to host events throughout the year to promote "fandom" in the Southern Region. Each year CoastCon, Inc. hosts a three-day convention; the 2008 convention will be "CoastCon 31". During this convention we will raise money for our sponsored Charity, Hope Haven Children's Shelter.

When and Where?

CoastCon 31 will be held April 11-13, 2008 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi, Mississippi. Our host hotel, which is right on the beach and adjacent to the coliseum, will be the Quality Inn of Biloxi.

Times:
Friday       Noon - 1:00 AM
Saturday   9:00 AM - 1:00 AM
Sunday     9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

What Will Happen at CC31?

As you can see from the navigation bars on the left, CoastCon offers a lot of different activities for science-fiction, fantasy, animé, comic book, horror, and gaming fans. Fans will have the chance to meet a variety of media, art, author, gaming, and science GUESTS, and can attend PANELS AND SEMINARS hosted by each guest. Art enthusiasts can browse through our ART SHOW, then bid on pieces in the ART AUCTION. Our MERCHANT ROOM is a great place to buy unique, fannish items (great for finding gifts for the geek in your life!). The vendors from the Merchant Room, along with businesses in the community, donate many items to our CHARITY AUCTION to help us raise money for Hope Haven. For those who like to dress up and get on stage, we have the COSTUME CONTEST and the "SLAVE AUCTION". And one of the best parts about the convention....the GAME ROOM, which hosts all kinds of gaming during the weekend. We hope that you will join us!

How Much Will it Cost?

The price at the door will be $40.00. Admission for children 9 and under ("Hobbits") is free. We do have special rates...please visit our REGISTRATION page for more details. Note: The discounted pre-registration deadline expired on March 9, 2008.

CC31 - Dedicated to Memory of Joey Grillot

The CoastCon family mourns the passing of Joey Grillot.
Joey, who passed away December 25th, 2007, was known as the "Big Reel" for his productions of the 24-hour movie features at many conventions. Author Debbora Wiles said, "He worked tirelessly behind the scenes of fandom creating magic moments for everyone's entertainment for many years. Joey had a special magic inside him that burned with a bright flame that is an example to us all. He will be sorely missed in the halls of fandom."

CoastCon 31 will be dedicated to the memory of this great friend.
