Costume Contest

Costume Contest Categories, Prizes, and Timeline

Children’s Division (Ages 0 to 12)

All children will receive a certificate and ribbon for their badge.

Adult Division (Ages 13+)

Best of Show- $50 cash prize, certificate, and ribbon

First Place- Ribbon, certificate
Second Place- Ribbon, certificate
Third Place- Ribbon, certificate

Criteria for adult judging

Give a score 1 to 10 highest score overall will win.
Judges will decide on Best of Show, possibly from winners based on the following criteria:
- Originality
- Craftsmanship
- Presentation
- Showmanship

Costume Contest Timeline

Friday

12 p. m. - 7 p. m. Registration for Costume Contest

Saturday

12 p.m. – 3 p.m. Registration Continues

6 p.m. – line up and run through

7 p.m. – Contest Begins

8 p.m. – judging and entertainment (Rob Balder, filking)

8:30 p.m. – prizes awarded

Best of Show

The winners of the 2008 Coastcon Costume contest were the "Mechacon Mascots", otherwise known as Jett and Zee. The one in the blue with the red hair is 'JETT', as played by Brigette Goudeau. The one in the red with the black hair is 'ZEE' as played by Michelle Chehardy. They decided to donate the $50.00 cash prize they won for Best in Show to Hope Haven. Photo by Jonathan Lartique.
